Hello! My name is Matt Wier. I grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA where I grew an interest in photography at an early age. My interest soon turned into a hobby and then quickly into a job. Throughout high school I worked as a freelance shooter for a local daily paper, the Pottstown Mercury, head photographer for a little league with over 500 players and a swim team with over 300 swimmers, and also photographed weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, and other events. After graduating I left the humid summers and chilly winters of Southeastern Pennsylvania for Santa Barbara, California to attend Brooks Institute of Photography. Since then I have started work as a freelance photographer for the Santa Barbara News-Press in addition to covering other events in the Santa Barbara area. I have been published in the Philadelphia Inquirer, New York Times, San Francisco Gate, Orange County Register, FoxNews.com, Santa Barbara News Press, and the Pottstown Mercury.
