Hello! My name is Matt Wier.
I grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA where I developed an interest in photography at an early age. My interest soon turned into a hobby and then quickly into an addiction.
Throughout high school I worked as a freelance photographer for a local daily newspaper and after graduating, left the humid summers and chilly winters of Southeastern Pennsylvania for Santa Barbara, California to attend Brooks Institute. I have worked as a freelance photographer with the Santa Barbara News-Press since 2008 in addition to working with various clients. I graduated from Brooks in 2011 with a BA in Professional Photography.
Currently my work is steered in the direction of architectural photography where I have been assisting numerous architects, contractors, and interior designers with their photographic needs.
My photos have been published around the globe including NYTimes.com, San Francisco Gate, Orange County Register, FoxNews.com, Philadelphia Inquirer, Horse Magainze (UK), the Santa Barbara News-Press, the Pottstown Mercury, and numerous others.
When not taking photos (although I usually always have a camera with me) I enjoy spending time surfing, traveling, kayaking, playing trumpet (albeit not very well), and riding my Honda scooter.
